Enjoying technology is not bad. I often to tell people "I'm a geek not a nerd". There is a big difference, mainly being able to talk about anything else. I've got a life too and you can read about both here.

Proprietary standards

Articles like this are funny. I love it when HP talks about running on their "standards-based" servers. Is that their proprietary Microsoft standard, the proprietary Intel Archiecture (Itanium), their proprietary PA-RISC architecture, or their proprietary HP-UX software? They do sell both Intel and AMD x86 platforms so maybe that's what they're talking about. But if you really want a fast x86 box, come check out the Sun's line of X64 servers.
